What is Rate Your Apprenticeship?

An independent New Zealand site that puts the governed facts of an apprenticeship in one place: the wage floors, the subsidies, who administers your training, and what each trade pays and takes. It names its source and its date for every figure, and it is not run by anyone who profits from your choice.

Is this site a recruiter, a training provider or a government agency?

None of those. It cannot arrange an apprenticeship, pass on an application, enrol you in training or tell you who is hiring. It is an information site, and the employer index is a list of businesses to approach directly. In full, what this site is not:

• Not a training provider, an employer, a recruiter or a government agency.
• Not able to arrange an apprenticeship, pass on an application or tell you who is hiring.
• Not yet carrying any reviews. There are no reviews or ratings here for any employer until apprentices add them and we have checked them.
• Not paid for by anyone listed on it. No company can buy a listing, a position or a removal.

Does this site have apprenticeship reviews or ratings?

Not yet — there is no review or rating on this site for any employer. A review is only worth reading if an apprentice actually wrote it, and none have been written here so far. A star rating attached to a real, named New Zealand business is a serious thing to publish, and we will not publish one we cannot stand behind.

So the employer listings carry name, trade and region only. We would rather run a site whose name is currently a promise than one that keeps the name by making things up. Our editorial policy sets out the rules we hold ourselves to.

How is this site paid for?

It is not, yet. There is no advertising, no paid placement, no employer profiles and no referral fees. If that ever changes it will be disclosed on this page before it goes live, and it will never be a payment from a company in exchange for how it appears in the index.

How do you get a listing corrected or removed?

Tell us, and we will do it. If a listing is yours and you want it corrected or removed, we act on that without argument and without asking you to justify it. The same goes for any figure on the site that has gone out of date or that we have read wrongly. Get in touch.
